About this space
Galazio is a gorgeous fully-renovated two double bedroom house in the heart of Ithaki’s beautiful main town Vathi. Out of season, the town is chilled & relaxing, in season busy & vibrant with its restaurants, shops and bars all buzzing, & its harbour full of yachts. You choose which version of Vathi to enjoy according to the time of year, both are lovely! The harbour is just two minutes away from Galazio’s garden gate. Or it has its peaceful terrace with sea view, where you’ll want to linger.
The space
The house’s interior is calm, uncluttered and inviting. The style is simple, a modern take on Greek cottage traditional. Two comfortable double bedrooms, I believe a good night’s sleep is important, so both beds have brand new European kingsize 200×160 pocket-sprung mattresses, 31cm deep with a layer of memory foam for ultimate comfort. This is paired with egyptian cotton sheets and a choice of feather & down or man-made non-allergenic pillows. Both bedrooms also have brand new a/c units. The kitchen is fully equipped. Inside the house there is a separate shower room and toilet (both with basins), plus the rear terrace has a refreshing outdoor shower where you can shower in private under the Greek blue sky or starlight. Although the terrace with dining table and sea view is the star outside space, you will be surprised by how many other outside spaces you have to enjoy despite being in the heart of the town. There is the garden itself with citrus trees and a seating area with barbecue and sun loungers. The rear terrace that opens off the kitchen and leads into the private outdoor shower area. And two other separate small terraces with their own small table and chairs. This means you’ll always be able to find sun or shade, whichever you’re after. Wifi throughout.

Other things to note
NEW: Greece has introduced a new “climate resilience tax” from March 2024 to help the country recover/rebuild following some devastating wild fires and floods in recent years. This is a new national tourist tax. For Galazio, we fall into the lowest band and the tax will be just €1.50/day and will be collected in cash, and official receipt issued, before check out.
Galazio is situated on a pedestrian lane but is just two minutes from a small public and free car park. The house itself is step-free throughout, but it’s important to note the outside steps that lead up to the house through the garden – you can see these clearly in the photos. Sadly this means this property isn’t going to be suitable for people with mobility concerns. Also note the polished concrete floors throughout the interior are a hard landing for small (or large!) people, so the house is not suitable for small children.
